When physical and emotional pain overlap
Living with pain or physical limitations can affect far more than the body. It may change how you move through your day, how connected you feel to others, what you believe is possible, and how you recognize yourself.
You may also notice that stress or past experiences intensify physical symptoms,or feel exhausted from having your experience dismissed or misunderstood.
Your pain is real. Therapy does not assume that physical symptoms are “all in your head.” Instead, we can explore how the body, emotions, nervous system, and life experiences influence one another while honoring the reality of what you are living through.
Areas of support
Your mind and body are part of the same story
Chronic pain and physical symptoms
Support for the emotional impact of physical limitations, pain-related stress, nervous-system overwhelm, changes in identity, and the experience of feeling dismissed.
Trauma and difficult experiences
A paced, compassionate space to understand how past experiences may continue to affect emotions, relationships, safety, and the body.
Stress, anxiety, and burnout
Explore patterns that keep you overwhelmed or on edge while building practical tools for steadiness and relief.
Relationships and transitions
Support through changing roles, caregiving, identity questions, relationship concerns, grief, and unfamiliar seasons of life.
Additional areas of support: pregnancy and postpartum changes, parenting and caregiver stress, depression and adjustment concerns, migrant, immigrant, and refugee experiences, and concerns related to athletic performance, injury, identity, or transitions.
Our approach
Practical tools, emotional depth, and body awareness
Therapy is tailored to you rather than built around a single method. Our work may draw from:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and practical coping skills to understand patterns and create manageable changes.
- Emotion-focused therapy to make space for feelings and underlying needs.
- Mindfulness and somatic awareness to notice the body with greater curiosity and care.
- Holistic and culturally responsive care that honors identity, family, community, health, and lived experience.
- Person-centered, psychodynamic, solution-focused, and multicultural approaches selected according to your goals and experiences.
We will decide together what feels useful and move at a pace that respects your comfort.
Adolescents ages 14–17
A supportive space during an important season of growth
Older adolescents may also receive support with stress, anxiety, difficult experiences, self-esteem, relationships, identity, family changes, and life transitions. Care is adapted to the adolescent’s developmental needs while respecting privacy and appropriate caregiver involvement.
