Frequently asked questions
Questions are welcome here
Beginning therapy comes with practical and personal questions. These answers can help you understand what to expect before reaching out.
Fees & payment
Understanding the financial side
What is your standard session fee?
The standard private-pay fee is $150 per session. Fees and payment expectations will be reviewed before your first appointment.
Do you accept insurance?
The Mindbody Collective is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows greater flexibility in therapy goals and approach, increased privacy from insurance companies, and care guided by your needs rather than coverage rules.
If you have out-of-network benefits, a superbill can be provided upon request. Reimbursement depends on your plan and is not guaranteed.
Do you offer sliding-scale sessions?
Yes. A limited number of direct sliding-scale appointments begin at $75 and are based on financial need and current availability. A brief financial questionnaire may be requested. Open Path appointments are also available for eligible members.
If reduced-fee spaces are full, you may request to join the waitlist.
The therapy process
What it may feel like to begin
How do I know if we are a good fit?
A good therapeutic fit often includes feeling respected, understood, and able to ask questions. The first few sessions give us time to learn what brings you in, explore your goals, and notice how working together feels. A brief consultation is also available upon request.
What happens during the first session?
We begin with what feels most important for you to share. We may discuss current concerns, relevant history, mind–body experiences, hopes for therapy, and practical questions. You do not need to tell your entire story at once.
How often will we meet?
Frequency is decided together based on your goals, needs, availability, and what feels sustainable. We can revisit the schedule as therapy progresses.
How long will I be in therapy?
There is no single timeline that fits everyone. Some people seek focused support around a specific concern, while others want space for longer-term growth and healing. We will check in together about progress and what continues to feel useful.
Practical details
Location, language & documentation
Do you offer therapy in Spanish?
Yes. Therapy is available in English and Spanish. You are welcome to use the language,or combination of languages, that feels most natural and comfortable.
Do you work with clients outside Texas?
Therapy is provided virtually, but clients must be physically located in Texas at the time of each session due to licensing requirements.
Do you provide ESA or FMLA documentation?
ESA documentation, FMLA or workplace forms, and other clinical letters may be considered for established therapy clients after a sufficient assessment period, with a minimum of three sessions.
Completing three sessions does not guarantee documentation. Any letter or form must be clinically appropriate, supported by the assessment, and within the therapist’s professional role. Documentation fees are separate and discussed before work begins.
